Welcome to Paralegal

The reach of law is incredibly expansive.  Law is the mandate that governs and guides how a society is built. It is the foundation that political systems and social order are set upon and the sinew that binds nations together. Law is the protector of a society’s most sacred rights and freedoms while also the framework of the global economy.

With so broad an expanse, there are many volatile and interesting fields of law in today’s world, but none more exciting than those at the intersection of law and technology. As new technologies are born from the half million patent applications filed a year, paralegals and lawyers must navigate legal issues that are without precedent. For this reason, the fields of law associated with technology are some of the most interesting, profitable and complex available for paralegals and lawyers. Through an ongoing compilation of resources, we aim to simplify some of the most complicated issues related to law and technology – and beyond – for both the aspiring and practicing legal professional.

Paralegal Guide

Law is a discipline that is a necessity in society, one that is broad in scope, especially when you consider that each country creates its own set of legal codes and practices. Law is the mandate that governs and guides how a society is built and shaped, and is the foundation for which criminal justice and social order is set upon.

Law is not without controversy or flaws, as there are many debates on what can be defined and justified as law. Most laws are set forth by the government (local and federal), and are meant to protect the citizens of given jurisdictions. There are many advocates supporting and challenging each type of law, as exampled by the politics that are fueled by it.

As with many other fields of study, law is divided by separate categories: constitutional and administrative law, contract law, criminal law, equity and trusts, international law, property law, tort law, and several other specializations in human rights, immigration, tax, environment, and business. Each conflict involving a particular law is dealt with in a case-by-case manner: some may require civil involvement with courts, juries, and trials, while some may be handled without litigation.

We aim to provide you with the various aspects of law and the legal system, with an ongoing compilation of resources. Here, you will find articles that feature explanations, processes, and histories of law to help with research and education efforts.
